Happy Holidays! It's that time of year when our pocket-style weekly albums become festive! :) So how about expanding the fun by creating non-weekly 'holiday themed' layouts to accompany your albums? We've all been there I'm sure. You are doing your weekly spread during the holiday season, and find you have so many photos to fit!. Why try to cram all of them into one weekly spread?

When I do my PL-type albums I have a blast doing add-ons! I've gathered a few ideas - and a few layout examples - to hopefully get those creative juices flowing.
Take some time this holiday to capture the 'details' of the season. It's the little details that really help your memories shine. I plan to have photos of my Christmas tree in my album, but I also created a 'themed' page showcasing my decorations. Many of the decorations hung every year are over thirty-years old (made by my mom and I when I was young).
Do you have special decorations on your Christmas tree? Why not take the time to take close-up shots of them and explain why they are special to you?

CT member, Juli Fish also showcased her Christmas tree traditions. This themed spread would look great as an add-on to a weekly PL album!
Here are some other ideas on capturing the 'details' of the holidays, that may have otherwise been overlooked in the weekly spreads:
* Holiday Decor
* Advents
* Christmas lights/tree lightings
* Crafts made
*Table settings
*Christmas Eve traditions
*Family photo shoots
* Baking
*Game night
* Shopping
* Parades
* Santa wish list
* Parties and get-togethers
* Annual family traditions
Family traditions are very important moments to document, especially if you can pass them down through the generations. Elf on the Shelf is one of the fun traditions I do for my daughter, and every year I do a themed page on the silly things he does each day in December. CT member, Katherine Hansen documents her Elf as well. Here is her gorgeous layout below - how fun!
Food is always a HUGE part of the holidays (at least for me! LOL). Here CT member, Stacia Hall, showcased this in her beautiful layout.
Katherine also created a funny page about her family 'trying' to make gingerbread yummies:
It's a beautiful, magical time of year, especially if you live in the colder climates. Got snow? Why not capture the snowmen and snow angels made, or the very first snow of the season? :) Here's one I did of our first snowfall.
Some of the most fun I've had creating 'themed' pages would have to be documenting my favorite things. What are your Christmas favorites? Here are some ideas for you:
* Christmas movies
* Christmas songs/carols
* Fave drinks, baked goods
* Recipes
I hope I've given a little spark to your inspiration this season! Remember to have fun with your pocket-style albums! Of course it's important to document your weeks, but why not have some 'themed' layouts to blend into the album too! There are no rules - just fun!
